Intractable systemic pain

Intractable systemic pain – CBD
Intractable systemic pain is characterized by chronic, severe and incurable pain that dominates the majority of a patient’s waking hours. These patients also typically do not respond well to typical treatments for chronic pain, including mild opioid drugs, steroid injections and anti-inflammatory medications. These patients often consider suicide as an option to “end the pain,” and are usually confined to their beds.
A variety of conditions may cause IP symptoms. These include severe osteoporosis, degenerative spinal conditions, fibromyalgia, and others.
CBD Oil for Intractable Systemic Pain
Because typical prescription medications are typically ineffective in the treatment of IP related illnesses, many patients are turning to alternative methods to treat their symptoms. While more studies are needed, early studies in the use of CBD oil have shown promise in patients with IP symptoms. Many individuals reported decreased pain and increased quality of life when using CBD oil. They also reported fewer side effects when compared with conventional prescription medications.
It is currently not entirely understood how CBD oil works for the treatment of pain related conditions. Some theorize that it activates receptors in the brain responsible for dopamine or serotonin production. It may also work by stimulating the endocannabinoid receptors in the brain in those who are deficient in the body’s own chemicals resembling CBD.
Who Should Try CBD Oil
In those with chronic pain, CBD oil is usually well-received and has few side effects. Lower doses may be used to start in order to gauge effectiveness and to determine how well-tolerated it may be. Dosages can be scaled up accordingly as needed.
If you would like to give CBD oil a try to relieve your intractable systemic pain or another condition, using the same oils used in research studies, we have a wonderful place to start your research.
